In 2010 the Bishops' Committee for Marriage and Family Life surveyed marriage preparation across the Catholic Church in England and Wales. In 2011 the Committee hosted a national marriage preparation conference to reflect on the findings. Early in 2012 the Committee commissioned Lester Coleman, head of Research at One Plus One and Thomas Knieps-Porte le Roi, INTAMS Chair at the Catholic University of Leuven to reflect on the findings from both the survey and the conference and make recommendations. Both reports were presented to the bishops during their November conference. During 2013 the Committee will be supporting dioceses in reflecting on the implications of the reports and looking closely at the strategic recommendations they contain.
